Program Types
Below is some general information for the the most popular types of training. If you are unsure what you are looking for feel free to read through but don't worry, these are only a guide and training will be adapted to fit your goals and needs!

Weight Loss
Weight loss is dropping physical weight, whether this be fat or other substances. With this goal in mind training usually consists of high intensity exercise. Individuals usually have a better quality of life when they attain this goal.
This is more of a health related goal but can be for aesthetics as well.

Fat Loss
Fat loss is the reduction of excess (visceral) fat stores from the body. We achieve this by training in such a way that fat can be used as our predominant energy source as opposed to carbs.
Use this training type if you are wanting to lose fat for either aesthetic or health reasons.

Muscular Strength
Muscular strength is the development of physical strength. This is achieved through power training involving predominantly weights. This is very high intensity.
Muscular strength is seen as a performance driven goal.

Muscular Size (Hypertrophy)
Hypertrophy training is moderate to high intensity training used to develop muscle mass around the body. This is usually associated with body builders but can be good for those who want to tone up.
People will usually use this as an aesthetic driven goal.

General Fitness
General fitness training is designed to improve the components of fitness for both health and skill. This can include strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, power and more.
Use this if your goal is to increase health and quality of life.

Sport Specific Training
If you're looking to improve your cardio, strength, agility, speed or anything else whether for a charity event, sport or just to challenge yourself.
Try this program if you have a performance based goal that you want to achieve.

Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation work is all about getting you feeling not as you were before. But, better than ever. With the Biomechanical, Anatomical and Physiological expertise you will struggle to find better.
Try this if you are recovering or trying to prevent an injury from occurring.

Other Goals
Maybe you want to train for something more specific to you, well we can talk about what you hope to achieve out of training and create a program dedicated to your goals.
Try this if you are looking to get something different to everyone else!
Face to Face or Online
If you are unsure what works for you read below and see more on their respective pages.

Face to Face Personal Training
Training face to face isn't just about walking around a gym having someone yell at you. It's actually about teaching and creating understanding in what and why you're doing what you're doing. It also creates interdependence, provides motivation, security, safety and best of all accountability meaning you have a reason to come back! With face to face training everything is centred around you.

Online Training
Training with an online program to follow provides so many benefits, firstly you don't have to walk into the gym with no idea what you're doing. Secondly, it shows direction and progression in your training meaning you will get to your goals faster! These online programs can be followed at home, at the gym or with a video call with Theory of Fitness to help guide you and keep you training at your best.
